Writing Under Watching Eyes

Making personal journal notes publicly visible on a website has a noticeable effect on the writing process, introducing a layer of self-awareness and calculation that replaces the feeling of writing freely, even when the audience is small. This experience suggests that the gaze of others, however minimal, creates a sense of accountability, which may explain why sharing goals publicly tends to push people to follow through and step outside their comfort zones. There is an appeal in the combination of transparency and optimization, and in the broader life goal of aligning what one thinks, says, and does, since actions ultimately carry more weight than words. The underlying rhythm worth maintaining is one of building, measuring, and learning, meeting people, exchanging ideas, and above all enjoying the process.

the journal effect 25.2.2026 The impact of the eyes of other is impressive on us. It's been a few days that I have enabled my journal notes to be published on my web site, well it has a surprising impact on me. It makes me observe what I write much more. I don't just write "freely" anymore. I calculate. I want to share transparently – don't get me wrong. But I watch my writing, cause I know it will be pushed online & made visible. Even if a few dozen people will read it. I am more carefull about what & how I write. Interesting!

This is probably why sharing our goals & tasks with other people will make us feel more accountable. Make us "ship" more. Make us go out of our comfort zone. Does that mean I should live stream my life to become a better person? Mmmh.. probably too xtrem for me ♡. I like the idea of optimizing, being more efficient. I like as well the idea of being transparent. Giving visibility to the others is a way to show. or prove. that we are aligned. And being aligned is not easy! It's a life goal: align what we think - what we say & what we do! ACTION SPEAK LOUDER THAN WORDS: YES!

So let's keep building. Let's keep learning. Meeting amazing people. Exchanging. Let's keep observing: measuring. This " the amazing virtuous circle : BUILD - MEASURE - LEARN. Let's go. And more important than everything: let's enjoy the journey. And I love it. Have a great evening! ♡ Romain
